Spark Portal Houdini Project
DESCRIPTION
This is a Houdini project including detailed written comments, notes and explanations for a spark portal animation, inspired by the effect seen in the Doctor Strange movies.
The portal opens at the beginning of the animation and closes at the end.
There is a simple grayscale environment included in the project, but the main focus is on the particle effect.
The project is set up for rendering with Redshift. I've included detailed instructions on how the shaders and render nodes are set up, so you can rebuild them yourself using other render engines such as Karma, Arnold or Octane.

The effect was created using these versions:
- Houdini Indie 19.0.455
- Redshift 3.0.62
- DaVinci Resolve 17.4
